(at municipal and at operational level)

Waste balances provide information about types and amounts of waste that have been generated within a municipality or a company. The waste streams are assigned to disposal operations and treatment plants. Waste balances describe waste flows from the point of generation up to the final disposal operation. They form the basis for waste management planning and for the evaluation of waste management in municipalities and companies.

The set up of a waste balance comprises several steps such as development of a reporting form, data survey, plausibility checks and evaluation. For the compilation of waste balances at regular intervals the use of specialised software is advisable. The software enables the user to draw up waste balances in a reliable and standardised way. ARGUS provides support for the compilation of waste balances as well as complete software solutions.
